Which software can run your whole nonprofit from one place?
A spreadsheet for members, a donation form, a separate email tool, a website builder and a bookkeeper's file: most small nonprofits juggle five tools. One can be enough, if you know what is in the plan.
Nonprofit management software promises to pull everything together: your member and donor records, online payments, donation receipts, events, your website and your email. In practice, each vendor packs those pieces differently, and prices them on a different basis. Wild Apricot charges by contacts, Bloomerang and Little Green Light by records, Neon by your organization's revenue, and Zeffy and Givebutter ask your donors for a tip instead of charging you.
The short answer. You run a membership association and want the website, events, email and payments in one subscription? Wild Apricot, from $66 a month for 100 contacts. You run a North American nonprofit and want to pay nothing? Zeffy, free, funded by optional donor tips. You need a real donor database and plan to grow? Neon CRM from $99 a month, or Bloomerang from $125. You only need a solid donor database on a budget? Little Green Light, $45 a month.
All prices are in US dollars, read on each vendor's official pricing page in 2026.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

How we compared these platforms
Google nonprofit management software and you mostly land on review directories and blog posts written by the vendors themselves. Each one lists dozens of tools, often their own first, with "starting at" prices that cannot be compared because one vendor counts contacts, another counts records, and a third looks at your annual revenue.
We did the comparison those pages skip. We read each vendor's official pricing page and noted, plan by plan, which pieces are included: member and donor records, online payments, donation receipts, events, website and email. Then we turned every price grid into a yearly bill for a small organization, and looked at what makes that bill grow. We set aside CharityEngine, ClubExpress, TidyHQ and Springly because we could not read a complete official price grid for them.
The score shown is the platform's score across all our pages. The rank follows the five criteria of this page, built for a small organization that wants one tool instead of five. Zeffy comes first because it covers most of the pieces at $0 for a nonprofit in North America, where most readers of this page are. Outside North America, Wild Apricot takes the lead.
- All-in-one coverageHow many of the pieces a small nonprofit uses are in the plan: records, payments, receipts, events, website, email. It is the point of an all-in-one, hence the heaviest weight.30 %

- Donations and receiptsOnline giving, automatic donation receipts and a clean year-end total for your bookkeeper.20 %

Zeffy
Zeffy is the only platform in this ranking that covers most of the pieces at no cost to the organization. Donation forms, memberships with member cards, automatic donation receipts, a CRM, email, ticketing and an online store are all included at $0.
The model works because donors are invited to leave an optional tip at checkout, and Zeffy says about two donors in three do. Those tips pay for the card fees as well. The trade-off sits with your donors, not your budget: some will add a tip without noticing, and a few will notice and ask. One line in your appeal email explains that the extra amount is optional.
Its hard limit is geography. Zeffy serves nonprofits in North America. An organization elsewhere cannot use it: if that is you, read this ranking from Wild Apricot down.
Its pricing page does not list bookkeeping or a full website builder: plan to keep those, and export your transactions for your bookkeeper.
- Donations, memberships, receipts, ticketing, store and email at $0
- Card fees covered by optional donor tips
- Automatic donation receipts
- ✓The lowest cost possible for a North American nonprofit
- ✓No tier to climb as your database grows
- ✓Covers both members and donors
- ✗Built for North America only
- ✗Donors see a tip prompt at checkout
- ✗No full website or bookkeeping
If you are in North America and money is tight, start here. Add Wild Apricot or a website builder only if members need a proper site and directory.
Wild Apricot
Wild Apricot is the closest thing to a true all-in-one for a membership organization. Every plan includes the website, events, email and online payments, so a small association can drop its website builder, its event tool and its email service on day one.
The price is set by contacts, not members. Lapsed members, event guests and one-time donors who end up in the database all count. Clean your spreadsheet before you import it, and archive old contacts each year, or you will climb a tier for people who no longer pay you anything.
Wild Apricot does not take a per-transaction fee of its own when you use its payment service, Personify Payments. If you plug in another processor, a service surcharge applies, so check the processor question before you migrate. Prepaying cuts the bill by 10% for a year and 15% for two, but only commit once the 60-day trial has shown your board can run it.
Its limit is the donor side. Wild Apricot handles donations, but a fundraising team that tracks pledges, campaigns and major gifts will outgrow it and look at Neon CRM or Bloomerang.
- Website, events, email and payments in every plan
- 60-day trial without a card
- No Wild Apricot transaction fee with its own payment service
- ✓Replaces three or four tools for a membership association
- ✓Prepaid discounts of 10% and 15%
- ✓Long trial to test a full renewal cycle
- ✗Priced by contacts, lapsed ones included
- ✗Surcharge if you use another payment processor
- ✗Thin for a dedicated fundraising team
Our first pick when members and renewals are the heart of your organization. If donations are the heart, Zeffy costs nothing in North America and Neon scales further.
Givebutter
Givebutter is a fundraising suite with a free CRM and unlimited contacts. Like Zeffy, it runs on optional donor tips: when they are on, the platform fee is 0%.
Turn tips off and the cost is real: a 3% platform fee plus card processing at 2.9% and 30 cents per gift. On a $50 gift that is about $3.25. Decide on tips before your first campaign, not after.
As an all-in-one, it is lighter than Wild Apricot or Zeffy on the membership side: memberships do not appear on its pricing page, so ask before you plan renewals around it. The Plus plan, from $29 a month, adds features for teams that run several campaigns a year.
- 0% platform fee with donor tips
- Free CRM with unlimited contacts
- Plus plan from $29 a month
- ✓No subscription to start
- ✓Unlimited contacts in the free CRM
- ✓Strong for campaigns and events
- ✗About 6% plus 30¢ per gift with tips off
- ✗Memberships not shown on the pricing page
- ✗No full website
The free option for campaign-driven fundraising. If members and renewals matter as much as donations, Zeffy or Wild Apricot fit better.
Neon CRM
Neon One sells a family of products around its CRM: Neon CRM for donors and members, Neon Websites, and Neon Fundraise for campaigns. Together they form the most complete platform in this ranking for an organization with a development team.
The pricing basis is unusual. Neon CRM is priced on your organization's revenue rather than on how many records you keep. That is good news if you have a large database and modest income, and less good if your budget grows fast while your list stays small.
The all-in-one costs add up. CRM alone starts at $99 a month, or $1,188 a year. Add Websites from $69 a month and the bill passes $1,400 a year before fundraising tools. Ask for a written quote that names every module, because the entry prices are minimums.
- Priced by revenue, not by records
- CRM, websites and fundraising from one vendor
- Built for teams that track donors and members together
- ✓Scales with a growing development team
- ✓Large database does not raise the price by itself
- ✓One vendor for CRM, site and campaigns
- ✗Entry prices are minimums, modules add up
- ✗More setup than a small volunteer board wants
- ✗Revenue-based price rises with your budget
The pick for an organization that has outgrown a volunteer-run tool. For a board of volunteers, Wild Apricot or Zeffy will be faster to set up and cheaper.
Bloomerang
Bloomerang is a donor CRM first. Its strength is the donor relationship: who gave, how often, who is drifting away. Fundraising pages and volunteer management come as separate products you add on top.
As an all-in-one it costs more than it first seems. The CRM starts at $125 a month, billed yearly, so $1,500 a year. Add the Fundraising module at $40 a month and you reach $1,980 a year; add Volunteer at $119 a month and you pass $3,400. Price also rises with the number of records.
One point in its favor for a nonprofit with turnover: users are unlimited. Every board member, staffer and volunteer can have their own login, which makes handovers much cleaner.
- Donor CRM built around retention
- Unlimited users on every plan
- Fundraising and Volunteer as add-ons
- ✓Strong donor history and follow-up
- ✓Unlimited users for clean handovers
- ✓Modules you add only when needed
- ✗Yearly billing only
- ✗Modules push the bill past $3,000 a year
- ✗Priced by records, so clean your list
Choose it if donors fund you and you want to keep them. For members and events, Wild Apricot covers more for less.
Little Green Light
Little Green Light is a donor database, and a good one for the price. It starts at $45 a month for up to 2,500 records, $486 a year with the 10% yearly discount. Users are unlimited.
It sits last here because it is not an all-in-one. You will still need a website, an email tool and a payment form. For a small organization that already has those and only lacks a proper donor record, that is fine, and it costs a third of Bloomerang.
The tiers are wide and easy to plan: 5,000 records cost $60 a month, 10,000 cost $75. Few small nonprofits outgrow the first tier quickly.
- $45 a month for 2,500 records
- Unlimited users
- Wide, predictable tiers
- ✓Cheapest paid donor database here
- ✓10% off yearly
- ✓Easy to hand over between staff
- ✗Not an all-in-one: no website
- ✗Payments and email need other tools
- ✗Priced by records
The budget donor database. If you want one tool for everything, Wild Apricot or Zeffy cover far more.
Which piece sits in which platform
An all-in-one is only as good as the pieces it includes at the price you pay. Here is who covers each of the six pieces a small nonprofit uses most, based on their official pricing pages.
Member and donor records
All six. Givebutter and Zeffy include a free CRM. Bloomerang, Little Green Light and Neon are donor databases first. Wild Apricot centers on members and their renewals.
Online payments
Wild Apricot with its own payment service, Zeffy and Givebutter funded by tips, Neon and Bloomerang through their fundraising modules. Little Green Light needs a separate form.
Donation receipts
Zeffy includes automatic donation receipts at $0. The donor CRMs track gifts for year-end receipts. Pick a single tool to issue them, so your yearly total is right.
Events and ticketing
Included in Wild Apricot and Zeffy. Givebutter handles events in its fundraising suite. With Neon and Bloomerang, look at the modules before you count on it.
Website
Included in every Wild Apricot plan. Neon sells Neon Websites from $69 a month. The others give you donation pages, not a full site.
Wild Apricot and Zeffy include email. Givebutter and Neon cover campaign email. With Little Green Light, plan an email service on the side.
- List the pieces your board actually uses, not the ones it might use someday.
- Check what the price counts: contacts, records or revenue.
- Decide on donor tips before your first campaign.
- Confirm the platform serves your country.
- Export a test file before you sign.
What a small nonprofit really pays in a year
The four pricing models change the math. Here is the entry bill for a small organization, and what pushes it up.
Tip-funded: $0 for the organization
Zeffy costs nothing; donors cover card fees through optional tips. Givebutter is free with tips on; with tips off, a $50 gift costs about $3.25 in fees. Plus adds $348 a year.
Subscription by contacts or records
Wild Apricot: $712.80 a year prepaid for 100 contacts. Little Green Light: $486 a year for 2,500 records. Bloomerang: $1,500 a year for the CRM alone, more with modules. Each one climbs a tier as your list grows.
Subscription by revenue
Neon CRM: from $1,188 a year, set by your organization's revenue. Add Neon Websites and you pass $1,400. A big list does not raise the price; a bigger budget does.
- Archive lapsed contacts before each renewal.
- Add every module you need to the quote, not just the CRM.
- Compare yearly and prepaid discounts.
- Note your renewal date in the board calendar.

The do-it-yourself stack
AlternativeA free donation tool, a website builder and an email service can beat an all-in-one on cost. They lose on handovers: three logins, three exports, and no single list of who paid. If your board changes often, one platform is worth the subscription.

Nonprofit management software · FAQ
What is the best all-in-one software for a small nonprofit?
For a membership association, Wild Apricot: website, events, email and payments in every plan from $66 a month. For a US or Canadian nonprofit on a tight budget, Zeffy covers donations, memberships, receipts and events at $0. Neon CRM fits once you have staff and several programs. Is there free nonprofit management software?
Yes, in North America. Zeffy is free for the organization and Givebutter is free with donor tips turned on. Both are funded by optional tips at checkout. Zeffy is built for North American nonprofits; elsewhere, a low-cost subscription is the realistic option. How is nonprofit software priced?
On four different bases. Wild Apricot counts contacts, Bloomerang and Little Green Light count records, Neon CRM looks at your organization's revenue, and Zeffy and Givebutter rely on donor tips. Compare the yearly bill for your own list and budget, not the starting price.Do tip-based platforms cost donors more?
Only if donors choose to tip. The tip is optional, and Zeffy says about two donors in three leave one. Some donors add it without noticing, so mention in your appeal that the extra amount is optional. With Givebutter tips off, the organization pays about 6% plus 30 cents per gift. Can one platform replace my CRM, website and email?
Yes, for most small nonprofits. Wild Apricot includes all three in every plan. Neon does it with separate products, CRM from $99 and Websites from $69 a month. Donor-focused tools like Little Green Light do not include a website, so you would keep a site builder. How do I hand the software over to a new board?
Give each board member their own login and remove the old ones at your annual meeting. Bloomerang and Little Green Light include unlimited users, which makes this easy. Keep an export of members, gifts and receipts outside the tool, and check whose card pays the subscription.
