What is the best pest control software for your company?

The one that builds your recurring routes, logs every product your techs apply and sends the service report before the truck leaves the driveway.

You run quarterly residential plans, monthly commercial accounts, termite inspections and one-off callbacks. Your techs spray, bait and check stations all day, and every application has to be logged for your state regulator and your customer.

The short answer: pick GorillaDesk if you run 1 to 10 trucks and want a pest-specific tool with public pricing. FieldRoutes fits a growing company that lives by route optimization and automated follow-ups. PestPac is built for large operators and franchises. Jobber and Housecall Pro are strong general home service tools, but neither has pest-specific chemical or device tracking.

What most "top 10" lists skip: almost every pest platform hides its price, and they all bill differently. We compared what each one charges you, per route, per user or per active customer, using the vendors' own pricing pages.

Our method

How we compared and ranked

The top results for this search are software directories and vendor blogs that rank their own product first. Most list ten tools and give zero prices, because most pest platforms only quote after a demo.

A pest company is not a plumber. It runs recurring service on fixed intervals, applies regulated products that must be logged, checks numbered bait stations and traps, and sells inspections that need their own reports. We read the official pricing pages, the vendors' feature pages and public reviews, especially the negative ones, with that job in mind.

Rank follows three pest-specific criteria first, then billing transparency. A general tool with a good score still ranks below a pest platform that tracks chemicals and devices.

1
Best pest control software for small companies

GorillaDesk

4.4/5

GorillaDesk is the favorite of small pest operators for a reason: 4.8 out of 5 on more than 270 Capterra reviews, and reviewers on G2 find it easier to set up and run than PestPac.

It is billed per route, not per user. One route is one truck and one tech, and office users are unlimited. That matters if your spouse runs the phones and a part-timer does billing: they cost nothing. For three routes, you pay $149 on Basic, $199 on Pro or $299 on Growth each month.

Material tracking is included from Basic, so every product your tech applies is logged with the job. Pro adds barcode tracking for traps and devices and multi-unit property management, which is what you need for apartment complexes and commercial accounts with dozens of stations. Customer subscriptions run through Stripe or Square.

The catch: the bill grows with every truck you add, and one reviewer warns it can become expensive as mobile users are added. Do the math at your 12-month headcount, not today's.

Tip: the 14-day trial needs no card and migration is free. Send them a real export of your customer list during the trial, so you judge the tool on your own data.

Standout features
  • Billed per route, unlimited office users
  • Material tracking on every plan
  • Barcode trap and device tracking on Pro
+Pros
  • ✓Best public reviews in this ranking
  • ✓Clear public pricing
  • ✓Free migration and a no-card trial
−Cons
  • ✗Cost climbs with each added route
  • ✗Device tracking needs Pro
  • ✗Less suited to 50+ technician operations
Verdict

The default pick for a pest company under ten trucks. Start on Pro if you service commercial accounts with bait stations.

2
Best for growing companies that live by their routes

FieldRoutes

4.0/5

FieldRoutes, now owned by ServiceTitan, is built for route density. It optimizes your routes, gives techs a mobile app, automates reminders and follow-ups, runs a customer payment portal and syncs with QuickBooks. It also connects to Sentricon for termite work.

Its pricing is quote only, on two plans (Growth and Corporate), and is based on your number of active customers rather than users. That can work in your favor if you have many techs and dense routes, and against you if you carry a big list of low-value accounts. There is no free trial, only a demo.

Reviews are solid (4.3 out of 5 on about 400 Software Advice reviews) and users say it is easy to learn, but support is the recurring complaint: "You get a different customer service rep each time… Extremely frustrating." Some plans also charge for support.

Tip: ask which support level is included in your plan, in writing, before you sign.

Standout features
  • Route optimization
  • Automated follow-ups and payment portal
  • QuickBooks and Sentricon connections
+Pros
  • ✓Built for recurring route density
  • ✓Easy to learn for techs
  • ✓Pricing tied to customers, not seats
−Cons
  • ✗No public price, no free trial
  • ✗Uneven support in reviews
  • ✗Support level depends on plan
Verdict

A strong choice once routes are your main cost. Negotiate the support tier as hard as the price.

3
Best for large pest operators and franchises

PestPac

3.6/5

PestPac, from WorkWave, is the long-time enterprise reference. It goes deep on multi-branch operations, reporting and commercial accounts, and it is the name larger operators shortlist first.

It is also the most criticized tool here. Capterra users give it 3.9 out of 5 on about 250 reviews and only 3.6 for ease of use. GetApp reviewers call it expensive: a high base price, per-user fees, extra modules, and paid training and migration. Support reviews are harsh.

Pricing is quote only, so ask for every line of the quote: base, users, modules, onboarding, data migration.

Tip: one FieldRoutes reviewer says they chose it over PestPac on price. Get both quotes on the same headcount and modules.

Standout features
  • Deep multi-branch features
  • Commercial account reporting
  • Long track record with large operators
+Pros
  • ✓Enterprise depth
  • ✓Widely known in the industry
  • ✓Built for franchises
−Cons
  • ✗Quote only, many add-ons
  • ✗Low ease-of-use scores
  • ✗Harsh support reviews
Verdict

Only worth it at scale. Under 20 technicians, GorillaDesk or FieldRoutes will cost less and frustrate less.

4
Best general field service tool for a small pest crew

Jobber

4.1/5

Jobber is one of the best-liked field service tools in the US (4.6 out of 5 on about 1,460 Capterra reviews). Quotes, scheduling, invoices, card payments and a client hub all work well, and it is quick to learn.

It has no pest-specific features: no chemical log tied to each application, no bait station or trap tracking. You can work around it with custom job forms, but you are building what GorillaDesk gives you out of the box.

Pricing is public: Core at $49 a month for one user, Connect from $139 and Grow from $199, with each extra user at $29. Billed annually, Connect for five users comes to $149 a month.

Tip: if pest work is under a third of your revenue, Jobber's polish may matter more than pest features. Above that, go pest-specific.

Standout features
  • Polished quoting and payments
  • Client hub for customers
  • Public pricing
+Pros
  • ✓Very easy to learn
  • ✓Strong reviews
  • ✓Good for mixed-service businesses
−Cons
  • ✗No chemical or device tracking
  • ✗Per-user cost adds up
  • ✗Real features start on Connect
Verdict

Great if pest control is one service among several. For a pure pest company, a dedicated tool fits better.

Best for selling recurring service plans

Housecall Pro

4.1/5

Housecall Pro is a general home service platform with strong booking, marketing and payment tools. Its recurring service plans suit quarterly residential pest programs.

Like Jobber, it has no dedicated pest module: no chemical log per application, no station mapping. Pricing is public: $59 a month billed annually for one user, Essentials at $149 for five users, MAX at $299 for eight users, then $35 per extra user.

Tip: compare at your exact headcount. Five users fit Essentials at $149, which can undercut per-user plans.

Standout features
  • Recurring service plans
  • Online booking and marketing
  • Bundled users per plan
+Pros
  • ✓Public pricing
  • ✓Good for residential plans
  • ✓Users included in each tier
−Cons
  • ✗No pest-specific tracking
  • ✗Key features on higher tiers
  • ✗Not built for commercial accounts
Verdict

Fine for residential plans sold alongside other services. Not a pest platform.

How to choose

What makes pest control software a bad fit

Most switches happen for the same reasons: a surprise bill, a support team that never calls back, or techs who keep writing on paper. These checks catch all three.

Per route, per user or per customer

GorillaDesk bills per route, Jobber per user, Housecall Pro bundles users in tiers, FieldRoutes prices on active customers. Price all of them on your next 12 months: trucks, office staff and customer count.

Chemical tracking

Every application should be logged with the product and amount, tied to the job. Check that your tech can do it in two taps on site, and that you can pull a report by product and date range for your state inspector.

Devices and stations

Commercial accounts mean bait stations, traps and monitors. Ask to see barcode scanning of a station in the demo, not a slide.

Support you can reach

Support is the top complaint against the bigger platforms. Ask what is included, the response time, and whether you get a named contact.

Getting your data out

Your service history is your proof. Ask how you export customers, sites, devices and service records if you leave, and in which format.

Onboarding cost

Some vendors bill training and migration on top. GorillaDesk migrates for free; ask the others for a line-item quote.
  • Price every tool on your 12-month headcount
  • Ask what support tier is included
  • Log a chemical application in the demo
  • Scan a bait station barcode in the demo
  • Pull a product report by date range
  • Get migration and training costs in writing

FAQ · 7 questions

Pest control software · FAQ

  • How much does pest control software cost?
From $49 a month to custom enterprise quotes. GorillaDesk starts at $49 for one route, Jobber at $49 for one user and Housecall Pro at $59 billed annually. FieldRoutes and PestPac are quote only, so ask for a written price on your exact headcount.
  • Is it better to pay per route or per user?
Per route is cheaper when you have office staff and few trucks, because office users are free on GorillaDesk. Per user wins for a solo operator. Price both on your 12-month plan, not today's team.
  • GorillaDesk or PestPac for a small company?
GorillaDesk. It has public pricing, a no-card trial and far better ease-of-use reviews. PestPac makes sense for multi-branch operators who need its depth and can absorb add-on costs.
  • Does pest control software track chemical use?
The pest-specific ones do. GorillaDesk logs materials on every plan and adds barcode device tracking on Pro. General tools like Jobber and Housecall Pro need custom forms to do the same.
  • Does it sync with QuickBooks?
Most do. FieldRoutes lists a QuickBooks integration on its pricing page. For any other tool, check whether the sync is two-way and which plan includes it.
  • Is there free pest control software?
Not a full one among the platforms we compared. GorillaDesk offers a 14-day trial without a card, which is the best way to try a pest-specific tool on your own data.
  • How long does it take to switch?
About four weeks for a small company: import customers and plans, load products, pilot one route for two weeks, then switch everyone at once. Ask whether migration is free; GorillaDesk includes it.
