What is the best B2B ecommerce platform in 2026?

Eight platforms compared on what matters when you sell wholesale: customer pricing, quotes, net terms and your ERP.

The short answer: Shopify Plus if you also sell direct to consumers and want a known price ($2,500 a month on a one-year term). OroCommerce if your B2B is complex: quotes, buyer hierarchies, thousands of negotiated prices. BigCommerce B2B Edition if you want native quotes and credit limits in a hosted platform. Sana Commerce if you run Microsoft Dynamics or SAP and want the store to read prices and stock straight from it. Salesforce tops the score if Salesforce is already your CRM. One change reshapes the math in 2026: Shopify opened native B2B to its Basic, Grow and Advanced plans, capped at three catalogs. We compared eight platforms using their official pricing and docs, plus what merchants and developers report on forums.

How we compared and scored

A B2B platform is not judged like a consumer store. Your business buyer doesn't browse: they log in, find their contract prices, reorder the usual SKUs and pay on net 30 or net 60. So we looked at four practical questions:

  • does each customer see its own prices and catalog;
  • does the store read your ERP or copy it;
  • what does the license cost, and what stays quote-only;
  • who builds and maintains the site.

For each platform we read the official pricing and documentation plan by plan, then read what merchants and developers say on vendor forums and review sites. When a price isn't published, we write "by quote" rather than an estimate no vendor confirms. NetSuite SuiteCommerce and SAP Commerce Cloud, listed by some roundups, aren't ranked here: you pick them with their ERP, not as a storefront.

1
Best if Salesforce is already your CRM

Salesforce B2B Commerce

4.2/5

Salesforce B2B Commerce tops the score because it covers the most ground for a structured B2B operation. The Growth edition gives you 6 storefronts and 20 inventory locations, with Order Management Lite. Advanced goes to 10 storefronts and adds full Order Management (the OMS that decides where each order ships from). The real payoff is on the sales side: your rep sees in the CRM what the account ordered online, and the buyer finds online the terms their rep negotiated.

You won't find a price. Both editions say "Contact for pricing". Salesforce at least states its model: a percentage of GMV, counted only on storefront revenue, minus tax and shipping. A phone order keyed into the ERP stays out of that number, but tracking it in Salesforce means buying standalone Salesforce Order Management, which covers orders from other channels.

The catch is the project. You need Salesforce-certified developers or a partner, and the platform only makes sense if Salesforce is already your CRM. Otherwise you pay a premium for an integration Shopify Plus or OroCommerce gives you for less.

Standout features
  • 6 storefronts on Growth, 10 on Advanced
  • 20 inventory locations on both editions
  • Order Management Lite on Growth, full OMS on Advanced
  • Billed on storefront GMV only, minus tax and shipping
+Pros
  • ✓Store and CRM share accounts, prices and order history
  • ✓Multiple storefronts (brands, countries) built into the offer
  • ✓Pricing model stated in writing, even without the rate
−Cons
  • ✗No list price, no published rate
  • ✗Needs Salesforce-certified talent
  • ✗Hard to justify if your CRM is something else
Verdict

The logical pick when Salesforce already runs your sales team and online revenue justifies a certified project. Without Salesforce in-house, start with Shopify Plus or OroCommerce.

Best for B2B and DTC on one store

Shopify Plus

4.1/5

Shopify Plus is one of the few platforms here that shows its price without a sales call: $2,500 a month on a one-year term, $2,300 on three years. For B2B it adds what lower plans lack: unlimited catalogs, catalogs assigned directly to a company or one of its locations, deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment.

The 2026 change matters. Basic, Grow and Advanced now include native B2B too: company accounts, quantity price breaks, net terms, PO numbers, quick order lists, plus ACH and vaulted cards in the US. The limit is 3 active catalog assignments, and a catalog assigned to two markets counts twice. Three price lists (dealers, distributors, key accounts) fit. If every big account has its own prices, you need Plus.

Two things to know. The variable fee exists, with different rules for B2B and DTC, and Shopify publishes neither the rate nor the threshold. And merchants who moved from the old Wholesale channel to native B2B found that order minimums were gone and had to pay a developer to rebuild them.

Standout features
  • Unlimited B2B catalogs, assigned per company
  • Deposits and partial payments, Plus only
  • Net terms, payment reminders, vaulted cards
  • B2B and DTC on the same store
+Pros
  • ✓Public price, no sales call needed
  • ✓Fast launch, Shopify handles updates
  • ✓Huge app and agency ecosystem
−Cons
  • ✗Variable fee unpublished, different for B2B and DTC
  • ✗No native order minimum
  • ✗Quotes rely on apps or draft orders
Verdict

The best pick for a brand already selling online that wants a wholesale portal without a second project. With three price lists or fewer, start with B2B on Advanced before committing to Plus.

Best platform built for B2B

OroCommerce

4.0/5

OroCommerce is, with Sana, one of the two platforms in this ranking designed for B2B first, and the richer of the two on the buying journey. Customer accounts have hierarchies (HQ, subsidiaries, buyers), price lists attach to an account or a group, and quotes are part of the core flow, not a bolted-on app.

There are two editions. Community is free and open source: you host it, you maintain it. Enterprise, where most of the advanced B2B features live, is quoted on your GMV, starting with 25 admin users, with hosting billed separately (OroCloud, private cloud or on-premise).

The price of that power is the project. Oro runs on Symfony, and user reviews describe a steep learning curve for theming and customization. One Gartner reviewer sums it up: "Solid, well-supported, highly-customizable B2B eCommerce software, but lacking a robust user community". Post-launch support gets good marks. Budget for a specialist partner, not a Shopify agency.

Standout features
  • Account hierarchies: HQ, subsidiaries, buyers
  • Price lists per account or group
  • Quotes and approvals in the native flow
  • Free open source Community Edition
+Pros
  • ✓The deepest B2B model in this ranking
  • ✓You can start on the open source edition
  • ✓Host anywhere, including your own servers
−Cons
  • ✗Enterprise by quote, tied to GMV
  • ✗Small developer community
  • ✗Heavy project, Symfony partner required
Verdict

The first platform to look at if your B2B has rules Shopify can't express. If your pricing fits three lists, it's overkill.

Best SaaS with native quotes

BigCommerce B2B Edition

3.9/5

BigCommerce is the other big B2B SaaS, and on paper its B2B Edition goes further than Shopify's native B2B. It includes a CPQ quote engine that buyers start from a product page or cart, company hierarchies with roles, credit limits, purchase orders, net terms and pricing by parent company, subsidiary or buyer. Your rep can also place orders on a buyer's behalf.

On price, BigCommerce publishes its Performance plan from $1,499 a month billed annually, for merchants above $1M in sales, with B2B price lists included. The B2B Edition itself has no public price and no named plan on the official page: ask whether it's included or billed on top.

Two watch-outs. The new Buyer Portal doesn't support legacy B2B themes, and a custom theme means development work. And some merchants describe support as slow and scripted. Line up a partner agency for technical issues.

Standout features
  • Buyer-initiated quotes converted to orders
  • Open source, customizable buyer portal
  • Credit limits, POs and net terms
  • Ordering on behalf of the buyer
+Pros
  • ✓Native quotes, no third-party app
  • ✓Performance plan price is public
  • ✓Detailed company hierarchies and roles
−Cons
  • ✗B2B Edition price not published
  • ✗Legacy B2B themes incompatible with new portal
  • ✗Support described as slow by some merchants
Verdict

The right call if you want native quotes and credit limits in a hosted platform. Get the B2B Edition cost on top of Performance in writing.

Best if you run Microsoft Dynamics or SAP

Sana Commerce

3.8/5

Sana Commerce starts from one idea: the store doesn't copy the ERP, it reads it. Net prices, stock and each account's terms come from the ERP when the buyer looks at them. That avoids the classic failure where the store shows a stale price because an overnight sync broke.

The flip side is ERP choice. Sana only connects to Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central, Finance & Supply Chain, AX, NAV) and SAP (ECC, S/4HANA, Business One). On NetSuite, Epicor, Acumatica or Sage, look elsewhere.

No price is published. A competing vendor also flags points to check in a demo: some B2B rules are configured in Sana rather than in the ERP, so you maintain them in two places. Ask to see your own discount matrix running on your own data.

Standout features
  • Prices, stock and credit read from the ERP
  • Dynamics and SAP connectors maintained by the vendor
  • No duplicate product database to sync
+Pros
  • ✓Prices always match the ERP
  • ✓Shorter project when the ERP is clean
  • ✓Built for reorders by business buyers
−Cons
  • ✗Microsoft Dynamics and SAP only
  • ✗No public price
  • ✗Some B2B rules live outside the ERP
Verdict

Unbeatable on ERP connection if you run Dynamics or SAP. On any other ERP, it's off your list.

Best for highly customized B2B

Adobe Commerce

3.6/5

Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento Commerce) ships the most complete native B2B module. Company accounts with roles, shared catalogs that set what each customer sees and pays, requisition lists for reorders, negotiable quotes, purchase orders with approval rules and quick order by SKU. Turning on company accounts enables shared catalogs and quotes by default.

All that comes at a cost. Adobe publishes no price, and the module doesn't exist on Magento Open Source, the free version. You need a specialist agency, and upgrades add up: versions 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 stop getting security patches after 2027, 2.4.6 after 2028.

If you're already on Magento, it's the shortest path to rich B2B. Starting from scratch, compare the three-year cost against OroCommerce, which covers the same needs.

Standout features
  • Shared catalogs per company
  • Negotiable quotes and requisition lists
  • Purchase orders with approval rules
  • Quick order by SKU
+Pros
  • ✓Most B2B features without extensions
  • ✓Near-unlimited customization
  • ✓Large Magento agency network
−Cons
  • ✗No public price
  • ✗B2B module missing from the free edition
  • ✗Costly version upgrades
Verdict

The richest B2B feature set, and the most expensive to run. Makes sense if you're on Magento already; otherwise, put it up against OroCommerce.

Best European option with listed prices

Shopware

3.6/5

Shopware, a German vendor, publishes its pricing and says plainly which B2B features sit in which edition. That's rare. Evolve, from €2,400 a month, brings roles and permissions, quotes and purchase approvals, quick order, shopping lists, budgets, org units and a sales agent mode to act on a customer's account. Rise and Community have none of these.

The catch is one line down. Individual pricing (percentage, fixed or tiered discounts) is in Evolve, but customer-specific prices imported from your ERP are Beyond-only, by quote. For a distributor whose prices live in the ERP, Beyond is the edition to price.

On the ground, listed prices are entry points that rise with GMV. Merchants on the official forum call the pricing "undurchsichtig" (opaque) and report a lower GMV cap in year two of a negotiated deal.

Standout features
  • Quotes, approvals and budgets from Evolve
  • Quick order and shopping lists
  • Sales agent acting for the customer
  • Entry prices published in euros
+Pros
  • ✓European vendor, listed entry prices
  • ✓B2B features clearly mapped by edition
  • ✓Open source core
−Cons
  • ✗ERP customer pricing only in Beyond
  • ✗Prices rise with GMV
  • ✗No B2B in Rise or Community
Verdict

A good European option if your pricing fits discount rules. If every customer's price lives in the ERP, ask for the Beyond quote directly.

Best open source with a low license

Sylius

3.5/5

Sylius is an open source ecommerce framework on Symfony, built in Poland. The standard edition is free under the MIT license. Sylius Plus starts at €800 a year, then pricing follows your GMV band and the modules you add. For B2B, the B2B Suite module brings organization accounts, price lists per organization or group, category discounts and tiered pricing.

On paper, it's the lowest license in this ranking. In practice, everything rides on your partner: ERP connector, theme, maintenance. Development is the real cost.

The limit mirrors OroCommerce, only stronger: fewer features out of the box and a smaller ecosystem than Shopify or Magento. Pick Sylius to control your code, not to move fast.

Standout features
  • Plus license from €800 a year
  • Price lists per organization, tiered pricing
  • Modular license: pay for the modules you use
+Pros
  • ✓Lowest license in the ranking
  • ✓You own the code and pick the host
  • ✓Flexible for custom rules
−Cons
  • ✗Few ready-made features
  • ✗Everything depends on your partner
  • ✗Smaller ecosystem
Verdict

For a company that wants control of its code and already has a Symfony partner. Without a tech team, pick a SaaS.

Pick by B2B model

Which platform for which B2B

The right pick depends less on revenue than on three questions. Where do your prices live: in a few simple lists, or in the ERP account by account? Do you also sell DTC? And who will build it: turnkey SaaS or a partner? On budget, only a few prices are public. Per year, license only (our math):

  • Shopify Plus: $30,000 a year on a one-year term, $27,600 a year on three years.
  • BigCommerce Performance: $17,988 a year, before B2B Edition.
  • Shopware Evolve: €28,800 a year at entry price.
  • Sylius Plus: from €800 a year.
  • Salesforce, OroCommerce Enterprise, Sana and Adobe: by quote.

These numbers are only part of the cost. Always add the ERP connector, the partner, maintenance and payment fees: that's usually where two offers really differ.

You have three price lists or fewer

You don't need a dedicated B2B platform. Since 2026, B2B on Shopify Basic, Grow or Advanced covers company accounts, net terms and quick order, with 3 catalog assignments. Move to Plus the day a key account wants its own prices.

Every account has negotiated prices

You need per-customer catalogs. Shopify Plus assigns them by company, OroCommerce and BigCommerce B2B Edition handle pricing by company or buyer. On Shopware, ERP-imported prices require Beyond.

Your prices and stock live in Dynamics or SAP

Sana Commerce reads the ERP instead of copying it, so prices never go stale. On another ERP, look for a connector maintained by the vendor or a partner, and get it priced separately. Our ERP for small business ranking helps if the ERP itself needs replacing.

Your buyers have approval chains

Quotes, budgets and purchase approvals: OroCommerce, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce B2B Edition and Shopware Evolve have them natively. On Shopify, check approvals in the demo: the native flow relies on draft orders, the rest runs through apps.

You also sell direct to consumers

Shopify Plus does both on one store, with different variable fees for each. Salesforce, Adobe and Shopware cover both too. For DTC alone, see our ecommerce platforms ranking.

Small team, tight timeline

Skip open source and certified projects. A SaaS with a known price (Shopify, BigCommerce) launches much faster than Oro, Sylius or Adobe, which need a specialist partner.
  • Run the demo on your real prices and three real accounts, not on demo data.
  • Ask how the ERP connects: live read or sync, how often, and who maintains the connector.
  • Get the full cost in writing: license, variable fees, ERP connector, partner and maintenance.
  • List what your current tool does (order minimums, free freight thresholds, case packs) and check each one.
  • Ask who handles support in your time zone, and how escalation works.

B2B traps, and tips from the field

Price pages don't tell the whole story. Here are the traps we found in official docs and in merchant reports, with the fix for each.

01

Shopify without Plus: the 3-catalog cap

Limit

Basic, Grow and Advanced got native B2B in 2026, with 3 active catalog assignments. The trap: a catalog assigned to two B2B markets (US and Canada, say) counts as two. Count market by market before picking a plan, and leave room for the day a key account asks for its own prices.

02

The order minimum that vanishes on migration

Migration

Merchants who moved from Shopify's old Wholesale channel to native B2B found order minimums were gone and had to pay a developer to bring them back. Before any migration, list your current rules (minimums, free freight thresholds, case packs) and get each one confirmed in writing.

03

Shopware: ERP prices are Beyond-only

Contract

Evolve lists "individual pricing", but that means discounts (percentage, fixed, tiered) set inside Shopware. Customer-specific prices imported from the ERP are Beyond-only, by quote. If your ERP calculates your prices, price Beyond from day one or your Evolve budget won't hold.

BigCommerce: the B2B theme you'll rebuild

Migration

BigCommerce's new Buyer Portal doesn't support legacy B2B themes, and a custom or third-party theme may need development. If you're an existing customer, get the Buyer Portal migration priced before you renew.

Salesforce: what GMV counts

Contract

Salesforce charges a share of storefront GMV, minus tax and shipping. Good news if part of your orders still come by phone. But Salesforce spells it out: orders from other channels or third-party systems need a separately purchased Order Management. Get both priced in one quote, on your volumes by channel.

Tip: start on Advanced before Plus

Tip

If you're starting B2B on Shopify, Advanced has one edge Basic and Grow lack: contextual storefronts, which show a logged-in buyer their prices and products. With 3 catalogs, that's enough to validate dealer demand before signing a year of Plus at $30,000.

FAQ · 8 questions

B2B ecommerce platform · FAQ

  • What is the best B2B ecommerce platform?
It depends on where your prices live. Shopify Plus is the best pick if you also sell DTC and want a public price ($2,500 a month on a one-year term). OroCommerce is the strongest for complex B2B with quotes and buyer hierarchies. BigCommerce B2B Edition gives you native quotes in a hosted platform. Sana Commerce wins if you run Microsoft Dynamics or SAP, and Salesforce B2B Commerce scores highest if Salesforce is already your CRM.
  • Can you do B2B on Shopify without Shopify Plus?
Yes, since 2026. Basic, Grow and Advanced include company accounts, net terms, quantity price breaks, quick order lists and, in the US, ACH and vaulted cards. The limit is 3 active catalog assignments, and a catalog on two markets counts twice. Deposits, partial payments and per-company catalogs stay Plus-only. Starter has no B2B.
  • Shopify or BigCommerce for B2B?
Shopify if you also sell DTC and want the larger app ecosystem; BigCommerce if you want native quotes, credit limits and ordering on behalf of buyers without apps. Shopify Plus lists $2,500 a month; BigCommerce Performance starts at $1,499 a month billed annually, with B2B Edition priced separately. Ask both for the full cost on your volumes.
  • How much does a B2B ecommerce platform cost?
Only a few prices are public. Shopify Plus costs $30,000 a year on a one-year term, BigCommerce Performance $17,988 a year, Shopware Evolve €28,800 a year at entry price, and Sylius Plus starts at €800 a year. Salesforce, OroCommerce Enterprise, Sana and Adobe Commerce are by quote, often tied to GMV. The license is only part of it: the ERP connector and partner often cost more.
  • How do you connect a B2B store to your ERP?
Two ways. The store reads the ERP live, as Sana does with Dynamics and SAP: prices are always right, but you're tied to those ERPs. Or a connector syncs data on a schedule, which is what the others do: more flexible, but a failed sync shows a stale price. Always ask who maintains the connector when the ERP or platform upgrades.
  • Can you sell B2B and DTC on the same site?
Yes, and it's Shopify Plus's strong suit: one store, a wholesale area for logged-in buyers, different prices. Salesforce, Adobe Commerce and Shopware do it too. Watch the fees: Shopify's variable fee follows different rules for B2B and DTC, so get both priced.
  • Do you need open source for B2B?
Not necessarily. Open source (OroCommerce Community, Sylius, Shopware Community) lets you own your code and pick your host. But everything rides on your partner, and advanced B2B features often sit in paid editions. Without a tech team, SaaS is safer.
  • How long does a B2B ecommerce launch take?
A few weeks for simple B2B on Shopify if your product data is clean. Several months once you need an ERP connector, per-customer prices and account migration. The ERP connector is almost always the longest workstream: start with it, and demo on your real prices before you sign.
